From a family we’ve served
I spent months searching for the right urn for my father. The one we chose is stunning and completely unique. You can tell it was crafted with so much care. It truly honors him.

Why we started Afterlife Vessel
We're Soo and Chris.
We started Afterlife Vessel after losing people we loved.
Everything we found felt cold. Mass-produced. Like it had nothing to do with the people we'd known.
We wanted something more personal. Something beautiful enough to live with, and special enough to carry the weight of their significance in our lives.
We made these for that moment of recognition: "This finally feels worthy of them."
How Our Urns Are Made
-
Selecting the wood
We hand‑select solid hardwood that feels calm and warm, the way you’d choose a piece of furniture for your own home.
-
Shaped by hand
Each vessel is slowly shaped, carved, and sanded by hand, so the curves feel soft and each piece has its own character.
-
Finished to be seen
Each vessel is hand‑finished and carefully inspected, so it can sit like a piece of art in your home.
The Story Behind Each Vessel
Every Afterlife Vessel urn holds a three-part story: the tree that gave its life, the hands that shaped it, and the new tree planted to continue the cycle of life.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right size urn?
Use this simple guideline: 1 pound of body weight = 1 cubic inch of ashes.
For example, if your loved one weighed 150 lbs, you'd need an urn with at least 150 cubic inches capacity. When in doubt, go slightly larger.
Each product page lists the exact capacity and weight range. Check our size guide for capacity details and help selecting the ideal urn.
How long does shipping take?
4-7 business days from order to delivery (continental US). Alaska and Hawaii may take 7-9 days.
We fulfill the order within 1-2 business days via FedEx. Free shipping included.
Need it urgently? Express shipping options are available at checkout.
How do I place ashes inside the urn?
If you're receiving ashes directly from a crematorium, they can transfer the ashes into your urn for you. Just bring the urn and instruction card to them.
If you're filling it yourself:
- Remove the lid
- Full-size urns: Place the satin pouch inside, then the plastic liner inside that
- Keepsake urns: Place the plastic liner directly inside
- Pour ashes gently into the liner
- Seal the liner (and satin pouch for full-size)
- Close the lid
- (Optional) Use wood glue for a permanent seal
What's included:
Full-size urns: Satin pouch, biodegradable plastic liner, wood glue, instruction card
Keepsake urns: Biodegradable plastic liner, wood glue, instruction card
If you're doing it yourself, refer to our complete instructions guide.
Can these urns be buried?
Our wooden cremation urns are suitable for burial. Keep in mind that burial policies differ by cemetery and region. Before proceeding, confirm the specific requirements with your cemetery or funeral director. You may also find helpful information in your state or local cemetery regulations available online.
